ASIAN ACTORS NEEDED FOR FEATURE & THEATRE PERFORMANCE

CAST NEEDED:

* 1-800-LOVE: Bollywood film written and directed by Abbas Tyrewala of Jaane Tu Jaane Na fame.

* THE MAIDS: a theatre play written by Jean Genet, adapted by RSC director Neil Bartlett and directed by Sâmir Bhamra.

Characters
ALIYA - 24-25 yrs old, could be short, should have a certain kind of a ‘fire’ in her, not very goodlooking – not model looking at all, interesting looking- real person. Diction should be very good (hindi, english & urdu). Vivacious, full of life character, she’s the little terror of the house, striking personality, when she gets angry she really gets angry, and when she talks people stop mid-sentence.
*let the girls know that the character is playing a pregnant girl through the film, 2nd generation Pakistani, born and brought up in India.

OMAR – 28-29 yrs old, not very goodlooking but not bad either, real person, no model types. Slight inherent goodness, well educated, good hindi, urban background, 2nd generation Pakistani, born n brought up in America, (Pakistani American accent), short words, lack of sense of humour but very intelligent.

UDAY – 34-35 yrs old. Does not have to be typically gay looking at all.Is playing a homosexual guy- but completely normal male looking character. Very smart, stylish and suave. Well-dressed, very proper, slick hair, smart sales guy kind of look, very metrosexual (saif kinda guy), big-built, well worked-out guy.

AMIT – between 25 and 30 yrs - Is also playing a homosexual guy – again, completely normal man to look at – not meant to look gay-ish or anything. Very goodlooking, short, small-built, complexed, nerdy without glasses, very shy around Uday, twinkle in the eye. Not uday’s type at all. Typical messy cute boy, very boyish – sneakers, t-shirts, ill-fitting jeans.

TANYA – between 25-28 yrs sexy, hot, Bipasha Basu type beauty, hard, dusky, sultry, good figure, body beautiful (is playing air-hostess) – model types will do, good actress, nandana sen kinds (minus the niceness)

ANKUR – 12/13/14 yr old looking boy, totally new boy (fresh face), preferably not the ad kids variety, cute looking Indian American kid, unsettled eyes, lost kid, pain in the eyes, complexed, messed up kid (mom & dad always fighting) only place he finds happiness n peace is his videogames etc.

SUSHI (SUSHMITA) – 25-27 yrs - Indian girl, hard-faced, “PUNK” *References – Ranbir Shourie’s girlfriend who he breaks up with in Pyaar ke side effects or Buffy the Vampire – her friend

BHAVNA – very beautiful woman between 25 and 30 yrs
could be slightly bitchy or negative looking also.

SANGEETA – 40 yr old – slightly older woman. Attractive, compassionate eyes. Someone like Kittu Gidwani.

MISHKA’S MOTHER – Hip woman. (between 50-55)



THE MAIDS

Tour begins 20 February 2009 till May 2009. Dates are predominently in Feb - March 2009.

Seeking 3 males and 3 females of South Asian origin. Age is irrelevant.

Two maids, one mistress - a devious and violent triangle of love, hatred and disgust.

Inspired by a notorious 1933 murder when two maids brutally killed their employers, the two maids Solange and Claire, act out their sadistic mistress-servant fantasies and their social roles as servants; Madame her performances as tyrant, beneficent employer and lover. In his notorious first play, Genet takes the elements of the thriller - jealousy, murder, betrayal - and subverts them with his own disturbing games of language, transgression and transformation.

The Maids is unpaid, but accommodation and travel expenses will be covered.

Music Video needs a director

A well know musical artist from Pakistan is looking for a fresh and exciting director to direct his latest music video.

Models will be supplied by a leading UK modelling agency. And the video will be produced by one the UK’s emerging producers Marcus Flemmings, backed by two companies The Constant Films & TMP.

The director needs to be flexible, creative and ambitious.

The video will be next month within the UK.
